Blended Search is Gaining Traction

Blended Search Results are becoming more popular with the search engines.

The example provided here is for a Google Search of 2007 Yamaha FJR. Notice the results include image files (yellow rectangle) of different 2007 Yamaha FJR motorcycles as well as video files (green rectangle) of 2007 FJR Motorcycles.

Blended Search, or Universal Search, as this practice is referred to by Google, provides the opportunity for Internet marketer to gain access to the first page of search results of completive keywords, while providing engagement opportunities with their user base.

Update 31 May 2013 – More recently, the search engines have begun to evolve beyond the blended search results for and now take a more knowledge-based approach with the knowledge graph. Not all searches will yet return a knowledge graph result, including the search for 2007 Yamaha FJR, which at the time of this page’s last update, was still a blended search results.
